It's not? When is appropriate, then? 10? 11? 12? 1? 2?

Be thankful it's not 7.

Anything that wakes up the ENTIRE fvcking neighborhood is inappropriate before 12:00. Believe it or not, on Sat. mornings some people like to sleep in

Well, the leaf blower guy likes going out and getting his yard work done in the morning before the sun is beating down on you. :p

Besides, I love waking up to the sweet smell of 2-cycle exhaust. :D

lol... I kid, I kid

I agree. My last asshole neighbor used to mow his lawn and vacuum his car all before 8am. Total dick.

Man - maybe you guys live two close to one another or need better built homes - I can hardly hear ANY of these activities going on.But then again, I've always lived in an areas with close proximity tolow flying planes and airports, so I guess me and my neighboors don't reallygive a damned :pThat said, I've already mowed my lawn today, AND am about to clean my car.............bwhaahh :p

Nothing like a low flying F-16 doing early morning drills to wake up to :p

Quit your bitching. 9:00 IS sleeping in, at least for me. I have to get up at 6:00 like many other people, some even earlier, during the week. 9:00 is a pleasure.

And so, because 9:00 is sleeping in to you it should be the same for everyone, right?

I like to work late and wake up late, that doesn't mean I should start making a racket at 2:00am because I am awake.

9:00 am or later if acceptable...
the land maintenance companies start earlier than that.

Of course not, because that would be against the law. :)

9 isn't unreasonable dude. Like I said, it could be 7. Have you ever thought about letting your neighbor know that you sleep in past 9 on Saturday?

9am definately isn't unreasonable. however if I were in your shoes and got work up by it, I'd probably be upset as well.

Buy a sleepmate.
It's how my dad has worked for over 20 years with the railroad doing 12 hr shifts 7pm-7am every other month. I still don't know how he does it, comes home and sleeps for 3 hrs. gets up, gets coffee does yard work for a bit and takes a nap before work again.

I will definitely have a chat with my neighbour after this, though it's actually his gardener not him using the leaf blower. I'd understand if they did this on a weekday, anything past 8:00am on a weekday is fair game but Saturday morning is a different story. I'm sure I'm not the only one that sleeps in past 9:00 on a Sat morning.

True, but Ive never heard of someone using a leaf-blower at 2-AM anyway. Like someone else said, just politely let your neighbor know that you would like to sleep later on saturday mornings. I am sure he will understand.

Sorry, no.

The world does not revolve around first shift.

It is bad enough that 2nd shift gets screwed over on the normal buisness hours of banks and such.
That doesn't mean they should get screwed over with sleep schedule as well.

<<-- works 2nd shift. :\

im sorry, but why dont you go out and try to do your yardwork a 1 pm wen the sun is out, its about 90 degrees, and your sweatin your ass off. while he is in sitting on his ass watching tv drinkin a cold .

My father waits until 9:30 or so and then will do whatever he wants after that, but he will wait that long, and our neighbors are lucky, he normally wakes up at around 6-7 am because he just cant sleep past that time no matter when he goes to bed.

That's not bad. I've had a local high school marching band practice for an upcoming community parade by marching up and down the street at 7:30AM 3 times in the past week, playing their instruments at full volume. It's a helluva way to wake up, let me tell you.

I could do my yard work at 2am. The weather is nice, and I am just getting "warmed up" after a 10 hour shift.

Most places have a "quiet time" law from about 10pm to 6am. If its important (like when I was adding on a bedroom, nights and weekends) I start at 6. But I usually try to do noisey stuff from 8 -10 before it gets too hot. and then have a

I live in an apartment, and I make a point of waiting until 10 am before kicking on the Dremel or something. But apartments are a different story than houses.
