Samsung has not yet updated their Magician software to detect Windows 10, meaning RAPID mode (needed to fix the write performance) does not function:

Some have managed to install 4.4 (which does not check OS version), enable RAPID, then make the setting stick with their upgrade to 4.7. However 4.4 does not detect some drives like the 500GB Evo 850 (at least not mine), so that workaround is useless for those.

Their Facebook page is full of posts asking when they'll fix this, but so far no answer. So for now, the Evo 850 is not fully compatible with Windows 10.

4.8 is coming this month with full Windows 10 support. I don't have an exact date, but it should be available soon since 4.8 brings along support for the 950 PRO as well.

The thread title should say that Samsung Magician doesn't support windows 10. the 850 EVO SSD absolutely is recognized and used compatibly with windows 10.

Can you elaborate on using RAPID mode and how it fixes write performance on 850 EVO in Windows 10?

Yeah, I wasn't aware that the write performance on the 850 EVO "needed fixing". RAPID is, IMHO, benchmarking snake-oil.

Agree! I have three 850 EVOs and they work great in Win 10. It is only "Rapid Mode" that doesn't, and it will soon be fixed.
