I've got class Valentine's day/night. So nothing special will be happening, AFAIK. Going to a vineyard the day before though (that's the plan anyways), but that's just because they're selling some dessert wine that my chick wants. Valentine's day is worthless, fuckit.

Before two years ago, I'd never heard of "Sweetest Day," but I think it's being advertised pretty heavily all over the place now.

"Romantic Meal at Home" certainly has its advantages--and if you don't have heart-shaped baking pans, you can make a great-looking heart cake (or other dessert or baked item) with a square cake pan and a round one. Just cut the round one in half, put the halves on adjacent sides of the square one, and decorate.

Don't forget the sentimental value of a personal, handmade card instead of something storebought. I used to do that in past years, but since I don't have any willing volunteers to give cards to myself, I've decided to introduce my own line of Valentine's Day E-Cards As an added bonus, when you send one of these to your loved one, it won't be one that she'd gotten before from someone else, because I only finished taking the pictures and writing the captions yesterday.

I'm still working on being able to distribute E-Cakes over the net, though, heart-shaped or otherwise. That's taking longer and my experiments so far have been kind of hard on the router. Cisco tech support even has the nerve to claim that I'm violating the warranty by trying.
