It's allergy season, so I know many are going to be purchasing allergy medication and nose sprays. I just saw this on the hospital bulletin board, and I though I would pass it along just incase anyone has recently purchased it.
Major Twice-A-Day 12 Hour Nasal Spray has been recalled due to contamination with Burkholderia cepacia bacteria. Use of the contaminated product has the potential for serious or life-threatening infections to develop in individuals with weakened immune systems, particularly individuals with cystic fibrosis.

The active ingredient in the product is oxymetazoline HCl 0.05%. The entire lot has been distributed nationwide to wholesalers, pharmacies, hospitals, and retailers. The product should be returned to its original place of purchase for a full refund.

I read another notice that said it might have dihydrogen monoxide in it too.

I hadn't heard that. That's not good. Even though it isn't listed as a toxic or carcinogenic substance, it has been found repeatedly in pre-cancerous tumors. Nasty stuff. Also used for chemical weapons and pesticides.

You'd think our government would keep track of who buys the stuff and regulate companies that use it. *Shudders*

Hehe, you ever see that episode of "Bullsh!t" where they get a bunch of people at an "Earth" rally to sign a petition banning dihydrogen monoxide? :D
