PSA: Rainbow Six 3 (PC) is the best online coop shooter evar

Aside from a few lag issues and badguys popping out of nowhere, it never gets boring. Most of you aren't into those "realistic" shooters where you die in 1 hit, but you'll get used to it after awhile.

Sure there's Serious Sam, but there's no pub servers for that game anymore. It's dead. There's also SWAT, but I haven't tried that yet.

In terms of coop shooters, this game should hold me out until Serious Sam 2 comes out.

Does it have VoIP built in? That's the only thing Raven Shield was missing for me.

they need voip built into more online games. it's annoying to set up vent/ts2 for every single different server you join.

SS's coop was properly supported IIRC

We had loads of problems with it tho as i remember..mainly to do with swapping save games then using those swapped save games all the time i suspect...

both SS's have coop.

can't wait for SS2. should be out this winter. EBGames says october, but i wouldn't bet on it.

October's gonna be a hell of a month, F.E.A.R. and CoD2 sched for release, sux that I picked now to sell my comp... Those were pretty much the only 2 games I've been looking forward to.

Edit, nvm CoD2 for Nov. 1st, but w/e, a lot of good games in Nov. too

Coop in RS3 is fantastic. When it first came out, I had 3 friends who also picked up the game. We used Ventrilo to chat with each other, and typically split up into 2 groups to take out a level. It wasn't professional by any means, as a couple of the players weren't necessarily the best at it, but it was fun being on one side of a door in a house, and another teammate peeking through a window to see if he could see any bad guys, then relaying that info to me.

EDIT: After thinking about this a little bit more this morning, let's arrange a coop play session, shall we?

no its better that way...most games that have VON (voice over net) are always half done and crappy and causes a LOT of lag in the game

Yeah and whats even better is their craptacular patch system.
There is a different patch for every version.
Example, say the latest patch is 2.0
There is a patch for 1.0->2.0, 1.1->2.0, 1.2->2.0 so on and so forth
So if you didn't update the game for a while, you'll probally have to uninstall the game to start from 1.0 since they don't make patches for every iteration.
