Been at the F'n dentist all day, and what's the first thing I see when I get home, one of the most ill at ease, incompetent acting lawyers I have ever seen. You go Sekulo.

What's weird is that the dems are talking for long lengths at a time while the defense is putting out some really weak arguments.

I don't know if its because they have some grand plan or what.

IT'S SIMPLE.....

If your party is in control then your party and or president can get away with ANYTHING.
If your party IS NOT in control, then good luck holding those in control or that president accountable. PERIOD!

THIS only proves just how hopelessly divided we have become.
That division? It's a done deal.
It has now reached the conclusion.
The division, today, on January 2020, has now entered a new and final level of completion which we can never return from.
And it should be noted, this was entirely of Mitch McConnell's doing.
Mitch McConnell has gladly and with no reservations traded away a huge chunk of our constitution for pennies. For nada. For what amounts to nothing. For what amounts to enabling and protecting the criminal actions of a president, a nothing of a man, a pointless little nothing of a man which history will hardly mention if mention at all. A pointless man of minuscule importance other than within his own delusional mind. A pointless man currently called THE PRESIDENT that is so afraid of exposure and so afraid of American institutions and so afraid of American justice.
HEY KIDS.... We should never need to go through this.
This is an insult to the intelligence of every American regardless of party.

So.... THIS IS IT.
We pulled the string.
We pressed the button.
We bet the farm, and we lost everything.
NO.... NOTHING WILL BE THE SAME AGAIN.
And even the most staunch Trump supporter will one day or their children will one day come to regret the selling of our soul and for what? For pennies. For a nothing of a man that history will dismiss as a fluke of nature.
Yet, the damage has now been done and that damage will last forever.

It does matter because it's showing the American people who actually care about this country and not just about themselves. It shows Democrats doing their duty and Republicans no doing their duty.

It won't make an ounce of difference in the outcome of the impeachment trial but it will make a difference in 2020.
You have a lot more optimism about how this is going to play out than I do.

If there's anything less than riots, this all means that the truth never gets written as the history of this time.

The riots will be at the ballot box. I expect the biggest landslide loss for trump and Republicans come 2020.

Schumer is doing a good job of laying out the argument for impeachment in his proposed amendments.

Just imagine the huge smile on Vladimir Putin's face tonight.
No doubt, Putin is not only loving this but is fully convinced he has now reaped what he has sowed.
We have a lot of losers tonight, but Vladimir Putin is not one of them.

Are y'all watching this live or something? I ask because the only thing I have seen on the local news was a couple 5 second sound bites from both sides and both were reasonable but opposite statements with zero meat. And that is what the average person is going to see.

Hoping that normal people will ever notice the idiotic arguments being made is a pipe dream imo.

Again, optimism that they won't be rigged and a media obsessed with playing it down the middle won't question its validity.

You can bet on that happening. However you can’t counter record turn out without obvious election fraud and I can’t imagine anyone being stupid enough to be that blatant.

Local ABC, NBC and Fox. All just had a brief snippet from each side but nothing ridiculous. I've been getting my live stream update from here all day.

All of the impeachment related hearings have been live on CNN along with 24/7 commentary.

WHOA....
WAIT JUST A SECOND FELLA......

Maybe, just maybe with Mitch McConnell perverting our US Constitution and perverting our impeachment process just might work out as a plus for democrats???
Maybe, just maybe a future president can take advantage of the very same Mitch McConnell NEW RULES when some future house republicans try to impeach a future US president Chelsea Clinton for her presidential executive order to separate republicans from their families and lock them up in cages.
Cages along the border.
The same cages republicans used to lock up children on orders of Trump.
YES.....
This just might work out. :D

I wonder how many will catch this live and change their mind.

I do think this is target rich for campaign ads later tho.

You need to go to one of the news networks.
Or like, youtube. Just google 'senate live' and it pops up with a dozen different streams.
All of the impeachment related hearings have been live on CNN along with 24/7 commentary.

That is kinda my point, the vast majority of voters are getting the sanitized local news version where no one is pointing out the things that will get people upset. Maybe in another market like LA or NYC they are a bit more critical but I am betting it is still fairly clean and that won't sway any election results anyway.

The average voter doesn't care, and it will be demonstrated the moment Trump is reelected.

This is correct. A person is smart but people are idiots, uninformed, disinterested, idiots.

I still can't understand why the House decided to rush this.

I get that dragging it out for a year and waiting on slow appeals processes to move through courts wouldn't be helpful.

BUT...

There was sooooo much in flux and still outstanding that letting it stew for a few months in a forum they control would have been potent.
