Sorry had to post this. I don't think the mods get enough credit.

I'm getting sick and tired of people doing all they can to get mods in trouble. Go to any other forum and you'll expect to see moderators putting the hammer down quicker than what they do here. We get away with so much here with basically a slap on the wrist then all of a sudden when we get called on it, we cry and bitch about unfairness. Try this, don't be a dumbass and you won't get a vacation. I'm very surprised that people simply get a vacation rather than a full up ban.

Wow, a compliment!. :Q It's nice to hear that once in awhile. I am pretty sure I can say thanks from all the mods here.

It was more fun "guessing" who Anantech Moderator was.

All in all, we have good Mods here and I thank them. I would probably ban the entire forums in a drunken rampage if I became one.

I agree with the OP. People think they can post whatever they want and get away with it. Yes, you have freedom of speech. No, you don't have freedom to type whatever you wish on a private message board.
If people don't like it, they should move on, period.
I've visited alot of message boards in my day, and 99% of them are crap due to the either heavy hande moderation, or lack of moderation.
Are the mods here perfect? No, there are times I disagree with them, but they do what they can with what they've got. They aren't police, they don't get paid, and you won't go to jail for being a troll or banned.
So I say keep up the good work and keep out the bad trash.

Now that olds is no longer a mod, i can agree that the mods do a great job around here, especially giving people 2nd, 3rd, sometimes more chances to correct their behavior. Well except Common Courtesy. He/she is just downright mean. ;)

Olds took my dictionary with him - I can only handle words less than 5 letters. He needs it to look up four letter words:shocked:

Best choice I ever made was resigning as a mod here, the second best choice was renouncing the elite title and one of these days I'll wise up enough to ask to have my account deleted altogether.I still come round occasionally because I've got friendships here spanning a decade in length.

The staff here takes a rasher of crap, the bulk of which the membership doesn't always get to see.Back in the day the mods could at least feel they performed a service that the bulk of the membership appreciated.Nowadays, the ony thing mods are appreciated for is as objects to be pushed about and abused both by the membership and the powers that be here.

3 cheers for the staff, if I'd gotten a severance package I'd buy you each a drink

For you Geekbabe, in the words of Motorhead:

People gonna make ya wonder if you're right
Keep ya wide awake and worried late at night
Why don't ya tell'em to beat it
Why don't ya tell'em to eat it
Just a bunch of clowns
Don't let'em grind ya down

So don't let the twats get to you, they are just twatting around being twats, it's all they'll ever be.

Having gained a couple of years of moderator experience myself, I understand that taking on the position comes with its own undeniable target.

But I've also learned that the size of the target is mostly up to the individual.

Most of the mods here do a great job.

I agree, the Mods here have to tend with so much Bullshit, that just thinking out what I'm going to post, will make me CRY :)

Would Anandtech please put back the Subscription deal so we can get rid of half the numbnuts in here? Make it $20./yr

Oooops...... Howard lost her Wig again!
