Unfortunately, I think this is going to become more common because of the new search. Now people are going to be directed to threads that may be relevant on content, but are irrelevant because of date, but will get resurrected all the same.:(

:( I guess the FT search is to blame. This will really suck in hot deals then. At least FW has the DEAD marker so you can see when something is real old.

Well isn't this nice.

Start a new thread when it's been posted previously and the repost police bust ya.

Bump an old thread instead of posting a new one to avoid the repost police, the the old thread bumping police bust ya.

Guess no one can post anything anymore.

why is this a problem?

if something is topical what does it matter how old it is?

a joke is just as funny in Feb 04 as it is in Feb 05

I was way ahead of you. I already bumped the most relevant old dead thread (this one) just for this thread. Anything else you bump is just pointless.

The point is, if you're going to resurrect an old thread, have a reason. Have something to add or ask for follow-up... something. Don't just post mindless crap (see threads linked at top for examples).

Plus, if you notice wchou's posts, it's not like she was going to start a new thread if those posts didn't exist. Those people already have their packages or have the problem resolved. After her response, people won't notice that the problem was over months ago and is irrelevant now. It will take up useless space on the front page.
