PSA: Not Fat Does NOT Equate to Healthy

It seems to be a common misconception that if you are not fat, then you are eating ok and are perfectly healthy. This is completly untrue.

All those perservatives and transfats are still doing a serious number on your body wheter you see it in terms of fat or not. Eat healthy regardless of what you can get away with.

well pizza is mostly bread, and actually pizza isn't that bad for you... its got a lot of healthy aspects. i am very active and bread has many carbs. nothing better than eating a nice pizza before i go out to skateboard!!!

PSA: rearrange your title, it is different than what you posted.

Your title: Not being fat = you are healthy.
Your post: Being thin does not necessarilly mean you are healthy.

you would think so, but most people assume thin = healthy.
There are plenty of studies showing that people who are about average weight have the best health. Your PSA would benefit by a link to one of these studies.

Thin looks better than fat.

Thin is healthier than being fat.

Therefore:

Fat is unhealthy and fvckin unattractive.

Being mildly overweight is actually healthier(from a medical standpoint) than being underweight.

Too many general statements in here.

Being healthy is being healthy, you cannot tell how healthy someone is simply by their body type.

Well, not counting extremes anyway.

all people who are overweight are unhealthy, but not all people who are thin are healthy.

Incorrect.

More and more studies are coming out showing that you are better off being a little overweight than underweight. Being underweight means you are starving your body of nutrition. Underweight people typically have poor immune systems and bone density.

Anybody - over or under weight - can have terrible cholesterol and blood pressure and be completely out of cardio vascular fitness.

Don't lump in "slightly overweight" with obese.

I just looked up the nutritional info for Pizza Hut. 3 slices from a medium pepperoni pizza has more saturated fat than the American Heart Association recommends you eat in an entire day.

Now quantify that. What is "a little" overweight? 5 pounds? 10 pounds?

Most people are considerably overweight and extremely inactive. We're the fattest nation on earth. And levels of diabetes are rising due to our carb consumption.

Given similar levels of activity, I'd rather be a underweight than overweight. Less vessicles for the heart to pump blood through.

But if you make it on your own, or use other toppings, the saturated fat is reduced drastically.

EDIT: Gah.... Now I went and necro posted...
