I noticed some different guide behaviors while watching TV today. Turns out the firmware had been upgraded on my DVR box. Looked it up online and there's some cool new features in Comcast's latest DVR firmware for Motorola boxes. Among them are the ability to add external storage to your DVR as well as watch stored content on your DVR online from your Comcast account. The firmware is being rolled out gradually based on geographic region. At this time the external storage is only supported by the Western Digital MyBook DVR drive (although there will probably be hacks to use any external drive).
