PSA: Mwave customers, check your credit card statements.

Mwave comes up now and again as a source of hot deals (including ones that I have posted). Thus, I felt that everyone here should be aware of this potential issue.

Some consumers have incurred fraudulent charges on their credit card after using their card at Mwave. Normally this would not be very conclusive, except that in a few cases the credit card information could not have come from any source other than Mwave.

Note that this does not mean all credit card information ever submitted to Mwave is suspect. It just means there is suspicion. Regardless, everyone should do their due diligence on every credit card statement at all times.

Disclaimer: This happened to me. I encountered a large, fraudulent charge on one of my credit cards. The ONLY time I have EVER used that credit card was at Mwave. I have never used it at any other time or place.

Thanks for the heads up! For those who have used Mwave recently, maybe its a good idea to just call your credit card company and ask to change the credit card number.

This has explained why and it allegedly confirms the source.
I purchased a netbook from MWAVE back in spring this year, a day or so right after the purchase I received a call from my credit card fraud department that informed me a large amount of cash purchase that looks suspicious. The same day someone from Microsoft store also called me to confirm a large amount of purchase (some IT software related).
Right then I knew something fishy was happening. I then called my credit card company and confirm the fraud.

Ugh. I used PayPal at least when I went through them. Not sure what's going on but probably a bad employee in there somewhere.

Paypal which I use whenever I can is safer but the only reason I use credit card because of the reward points besides all of my credit cards are zero fraud liability. So it is no big deal if stolen.
