PSA: Move your clock ahead 1 hr tonight!

Baked

It's that time of the year again where if you live in one of states that forces you to change your clock (except for Arizona, screw you guys).

Bah sucks losing an hour.

I actually did it yesterday. It feels more seamless that way. Though all the stuff that goes by NTP will only change tonight.

i like getting out of work at 4:30 but why can't i just call it 4:30 instead of 5:30?

Works out for me. Working an overnight shift tonight. My shift will be cut an hour short, and I'll still get paid for it.

In an age when we never leave the basement and all time is now and the sun has as much relevance in our daily lives as it does to the crew of the Enterprise, I say we all switch to GMT and and call it good. It makes server script writing that much easier. Yes, my webhost changes the time zone setting on my server. Yes, they do this manually. Yes, they do it when they remember to, not when the the time change actually occurs. Yes, this breaks my scripts twice a year.

That's why you're not supposed to rely on the machine's timezone, but rather supposed to set this manually.

In fact, PHP gives a rather stern warning about this when your timezone is taken from the machine rather than defined in the php.ini file.

Either way, I'm likely to have lots of phone calls on Monday about peoples' phones that didn't automatically adjust. Fuck this shit.

if it wasn't for the dumb stove and microwave, i'd only have one clock to change

Your car is smart too? 🙁

My aftermarket radio isn't difficult to adjust, but I hate it.

And I think my Zune needs manual adjustment too, stupid thing. And my alarm radio, though my cell pulls that function for most of the alarms.

I got up at 4:30 this morning according to the old time, and did laundry. Time to do some exercise so I can get those 6 packs going.
