I'm taking notes from my CCNA book and drawing out network topologies for easy visual reference for studying. I can't even get the lines to line up with the middle outer edge of a circle half the time, lol.

Try Dia -- it was actually designed for something like that and even has built-in Cisco symbols.

I have Visio. But these are simple charts, just laying out ring/bus/star topologies and stuff, no special symbols needed.
