It does not mean My Name Is.
Thats why you dont need es at the end. It would be saying I am called is. Which of course is fucking hella gay.

The proper way to say My Name Is would be Mi nombre es. Having said that, in most spanish speaking countries that is the wrong way to introduce yourself and will often confuse people.

Mi no sabe mucho...:p

Personally, I don't give two-shits if my Spanish is correct or not. If I was in Mexico, Spain, or some other Spanish-speaking country, MAYBE I'd do a better job of learning...but in the US of A...fuck them...let them learn English.

Yo no sé mucho.

Yes, I KNOW that's incorrect. I do it intentionally. It used to drive my Spanish 101 professor crazy...:p

Nice catch.
was...single, were...plural.

Not really. I don't deal with Spanish speaking people except when I go to Mexican restaurants...and they all speak at least passable English.

So far the most useful spanish phrases I've learned for living in southern Arizona are "Uno burro very mucho y uno horchata" and "No lo soy la migra".

I knew not to say "es" but didn't know why. I took Spanish for years, guess I didn't care much lol.

never been to arizona - my loss, I'm sure. anyone who's been in NYC for any length of time is more likely to know the phrase "la via del tren subterraineo es peligrosa".
