How's the audio qulaity for you. I'm coming from two iRiver devices (h120, clix1) which are near the top for sound. I was playing around with the touch at BestBuy and I want it badly.

no complains so far, sounds like any other mp3 player. I think that stuff is more of a function of the headphones / mp3 encoder than the player itself.

have you actually played with it? I have yet to see a smudge on the screen, tough I got a screen protector. I'm totally blown away by the OS and the screen.

I love mine.

EDIT: It's an iphone but ipod is essentially the same on both. Airplane mode increases battery life and improves noise floor. I suppose you could disable the wifi on the touch for similar results. IMO where the iphone excels is with its built in speaker if you're sharing a video with someone.

I get to use it as a phone too! It's in the ship's cellular repeater although outgoing access is barred. (not that I would call anyone hehe) It's cool though if someone calls my extension their name and extension (cabin number) are shown just like normal caller id.

Yes and no. There's a PSX emulator, I'm not 100% sure if the ARM chip that's the iPod Touch's CPU is powerful enough to emulate a PSX in real-time though.

And yes, the iPod Touch kicks ass. It's the best PDA I've ever owned (and it makes for a good MP3 player, too).

Crackers have gotten skype running on it (rumored?) so I guess it would be possible to use it as a phone where wifi is available.
