I am a member at this all-Indian technology forum called thinkdigit. I rarely go there, mainly because the forum is slow as shit(slow in terms of new content, not internet speed).

However a few days ago i went there and saw one of those "Hi I'm new here" threads. Trying to be funny, i posted a tongue in cheek reaction(pretty mild compared to what we see here on ATOT).

Today i logged in found i had received an infraction 🙄

Seriously I'm never going to such shitty forum ever again. 😡

Some other people still have things such as modesty, manners, eloquence and a general sense of respect (at least when it's convenient for them). In the USA, it's now about what can get the most reaction out of an audience, never mind the means to get that reaction. But wait a few years, everyone wants to be like an American. Our so-called "culture" will be adopted by the East. Not too far off.

In fact, they already speak English for a lot of things in the major cities in India. They're dressing like Westerners and they're dating and marrying like them too. I believe in China a Western style marriage is one of the hottest things around. Very popular.

As to what you did, maybe it's a new thing for them? Maybe they're not used to that kind of humor? Don't know. Give them another chance 😀

yes you are right about them not being used to that type of humour.
The jokes and pranks people play at each other in that forum are tooo boring for me, even more so ever since i joined ATF. 😀

Their jokes are lame..
 
Surprisingly I work with several Indian people and they all seem to have average to great senses of humour.

I guess I'll have to let each of them know that they don't have senses of humour. 🙁 Thanks for letting me know.

meh south asians generally like to laugh, maybe it's that forum. I notice this with italian and germans too, with americans everything is not serious, but go on a italian or german cod server, and you can find everything from laidback to outright nazi no fun allowed srs bsns types.
