Nothing would have happened if it wasn't for those stabilizers grounding the truck.

Been a crane operator for almost 30 years. Only got into the power lines one time...and that was when my oiler ignored the horn signals, and backed me into them...lots of sparks flying and sh!t, but nothing lke the vid. I've had a crane hit by lightning twice, and that was MUCH worse...
There are laws about working too close to power lines for a reason...
At least 10 feet for lines rated 50 kilovolts or below
At least 10 feet plus 0.4 inch for each kilovolt above 50
kilovolts; or maintain twice the length of the line
insulator (but never less than 10 feet)
