Yeah we get enough of that with activist groups picking up homeless guys off the street and taking them to register to vote and vote at the same time.

Cynicism is no excuse to sit back and let the decision be made for you. If you care at all about the United States you will vote, if only as a symbolic gesture. Which in my case may very well be if I end up voting for someone who isn't McCain or Obama.

In some states you have to register a party but this does not mean you are restricted to voting on candidates in that party during a general election.
