it's just cold + low humidity right now in my area

no no no, that's not all. You've done something else to yourself or you've got something else crawling around in you sucking up all available moisture.

There is nothing normal about those "winter hands"

I wonder what the difference is? I'm guessing the 'no sting' doesn't work as well, or that would be the only version they made.

it says pain free on AND off.
so i guess it's easier to come off?
whereas the original stays on longer?

The ingredient lists for the two are very, very different.

Pain-free formula:

Ingredients: water, polyvinyl acetate, AMP-acrylates/allyl methacrylate copolymer, xanthan gum, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin

Original “painful” formula:

Active ingredient: Benzethonium chloride 0.2%

Purpose: Antiseptic (first aid to help prevent bacterial contamination in minor cuts and scrapes)

Inactive ingredients: Amyl acetate, camphor, ethyl acetate, ethyl alcohol, n-butyl acetate, nitrocellulose

oh wow.. never realized the pain-free formula didnt have Antiseptic. :(
i assumed generic neosporin built in like the original.

and if they can make neosporin pain free, why not the original formula?

That's not Neosporin, triple antibiotic is: Neomycin/polymyxin B/bacitracin

JFC.... that is NOT "just cold and low humidity".... the skin on your hands is fvcked I've literally never seen anything like that on a person that wasn't like 90 years old AND very unhealthy!

Go see a freaking dermatologist immediately.

I've always worked in low humidity environments and my hands don't get that bad. I'll get a bit of dryness at the knuckles at very worse. That's when I know I need to use more moisturizer.

I also have a bad habit of going out without gloves on for short spurts, depends what I'm doing. Just going in and out of the truck for example, trying to handle the keys or hold stuff with gloves on is a pain. If I plan to be out longer, like shoveling then I put them on.

The "no pain" part is the premium DLC. So you have to pay extra for it.

Antiseptic isnt antibiotic?
I was making the point that Neosporin is pain free because it's completely different. You're also supposed to clean wounds before you put Neosporin on them too, AFAIK.

No. Not the same at all. Antiseptics are only for external use. Some kill everything, some don’t. Think isopropyl alcohol…acts quick, cleans well…lyses cell walls well, but lasts as long as it’s wet. And you wouldn’t want to drink it.

Antibiotics are for killing bacteria and can be used externally or internally. Can drink, inject, and probably inhale them.

So, antiseptic = cleaning. Antibiotics = bacteria death/cure.
