There are so many ways to open a beer......

Lighter, belt buckle, knife, a 2 x 4 or any other wooden edge, another beer bottle, your watch, a quarter.

That's what lighters are for. You could open a beer on pretty much any hard edged surface so long as you don't mind scratching it up a bit.

I just slap it on the nearest window sill since the only place I've had a problem opening a beer is in a hotel room :p

Another popular one is the lighter (a lot of Danes smoke so there's always a lighter floating around), a friend of mine used to do it with his iPod. I've also seen people do it with newspaper and other stuff.

wtF!, I thought those things were like the most scratchable items known to man. And why even risk messing up something that cost $300.

You use the metal part and if you do it correctly there is no slipping so no scratches. He was going to teach his gf how but we convinced him it was a bad idea, which turned out to be a good thing cause she really scratched up the lighter we taught her with.
