The problem with a lot of submersible aquarium heaters is that the heater element is encased in glass. The titanium tube heaters are touted as unbreakable in that respect, which is true; they won't shatter if overheated or knocked. But it's not unbendable, and the thermostat unit and the sensor-end of the thermal probe is made out of plastic.Originally posted by: n0cmonkey
