PSA: Hot Shots Golf 6 comes for PS3 today.

as the greatest golf franchise in history, i'm just letting everyone know that the long awaited next iteration of HSG is out on PSN today for PS3. it's the PS Vita version, which i have never played since i don't have a vita, but i'm extremely excited about it. i'm not sure if the store is updated yet or not but i'm sure it will be by the time i get home tonight. it's only $20 too which is a steal for it.

forgot how shitty psn is, what a pile of shit.

after putting hsg6 in my cart i go to pay, and it has a cc on file that expired in 2010. so i am trying to enter a new number and it won't let you. no way to do it from the store, so i back out and go to my psn account.

i find the option down there and luckily after 5 failures remember my password and i change my pw.

so i go back in, add funds, and purchase it. it confirms my purchase and tells me i can download it. so i click on download and get this.

Much better, faster experience for sure. I look forward to the PS4 hopefully having a much better store experience.
 
just got off with the chat people and they told me to do file restore and it did not help. they basically said sorry call in our network support because it is a network issue. its definitely not a network issue, i can download demos just fine. only thing i can't download are things i have purchased. sounds ass backwards to me.

i then asked for a refund and they reminded me that all purchases are final so refunds may not go through and they review all refund requests.

glad i used an amex for this because i will just tell amex the deal and they will give me the $$ back no questions asked.

trying one thing now though deleting and restoring my account. think i lost all offline trophy data, which i don't care about, but hopefully it works.
 
well good news, the delete/restore of my account worked. downloading now.

sad that google helps more than their support. and apparently it was not a network issue.
 
Yeah...i've had the people from Xbox Live support tell me the same thing when I had a problem with a download. Most of the time the people on the phones or chat have absolutely no clue how to fix issues.

Hell, I had completely forgotten it was getting a ps3 release.

I've played through the vita version 2 times (second was when I had my original vita stolen, and had to rebuy it 😛 )

I'll still buy and play this verision 😀
 
i played through the first level of challenge mode last night. so far i'm liking the game. the one thing the portable versions always seemed to have were more paths to take on the holes. i could see this already from the first few courses i played.

as far as the game goes it is definitely still the same ol' fun hsg. i am finding that the music doesn't have nearly the charm as out of bounds did, but it is growing on me a bit. i'm also hoping that the 2 locked hitting types are the modes from out of bounds. the only one i really care about is the 'advanced' mode from out of bounds, not the traditional. while the 2nd swing mode is similar to the out of bounds mode, it's still not the same.
 
I tried the first two, and they had some fun elements, but the actual golf was so far behind the Tiger Woods series at the time (2003-2004ish) that I never tried them again.
 
the golf engine in hot shots golf is WWAAYY better than tiger. it has a lot more elements and variables than tiger woods does.

but i will admit, back in the time frame you are talking about, tiger woods was better. the last good tiger woods game IMO was tiger woods 2004 on xbox. since then it has gone all downhill.

the childish looks of hsg can definitely turn people off from seeing how at it's core it is actually a very serious golf game with A LOT of depth and skill required to be good at it.

i got bored of tiger when scoring -18 and -20 was the norm.

I'd try to answer that, but I'm not equipped to compare graphics between something on a 6 inch screen, and something on a 50 inch screen. It wouldn't matter if they looked identical, or the big screen is actually worse. I'll always say the ps3 version looks better 😀
