He has about a dozen shows now. Each and every one of them presents you with different level of "assholism".

Personally we stopped watching hells kitchen after few seasons. It's all too predictable now and basically same crap over and over.

i recently came across Bar Rescue on fx which is similar to kitchen nightmares but for bars, and with some guy named jon taffer instead of ramsey. i'm really liking that show as well.

I recently watched an episode of him in some NYC seafood joint and part of another. Idk why people don't take the advice of someone who knows what they are talking about. "My business is failing, help!" .... "WTF I DO WUT I WANT!!!!"

Thanks for the heads up. I enjoy all his shows.

MasterChef is my favorite though. Anyone know when that starts again?

The reason his assholery works is he's ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD AT WHAT HE DOES. He's got like 22 restaurants and holds 14 Michellen stars ( I think he's the #2 holder in the world). So, whatever he does actually works.

I've met Gordon twice, and he is genuinely a nice and funny guy (he even remembered me the 2nd time. I was "the failed basketball player" because I'm tall :) ). He's become a caricature of himself on Fox, but his BBC shows are still excellent. Check out his "Great Escape" series where he goes around the world and learns about local cuisine. It's absolutely fascinating.

He seems like a good chef, certainly a successful one, and he's done a great job building a persona that he can tweak depending on the show.

Problem is there's really no difference between episodes of any given show. I saw a few episodes of Kitchen Nightmares and they were essentially all the same. Same with others. MasterChef is a little more interesting since they come up with unique situations every week but even then it gets old.

He had a great Football career going too (until his injury).

Yep, that's where I'm at. I like the guy but the shows are all too predictable/same crap over and over. Just tired/bored of it.

Level of care: zero. This show was moderately entertaining when the contestants were at least semi-capable in the kitchen, but now it's just Jerry Springer with beef wellington.

I'll watch the show, but I like Master Chef the most. Last season kind of wore on me and I almost gave up on HK, but since there isn't much else on, me and the GF will watch it.

At least they are posting once and leaving. It's not as bad as a certain poster in the Console forum that repeatedly goes into threads on games he doesn't care about and stirs shit up.

FOX did that to Kitchen Nightmares. They edit the shows into "Owner's an idiot, a bunch of shouting, owner sees the light, everything is all better."

The BBC version of KN is much better.

Its gotten a bit tired with the same stereotypical wannabe chefs:

Angry black female - check
Fat white guy who sweats profusely - check
sweet and innocent white girl - check
2-4 ringers who can actually cook - check

Back in line!
You Donkey!

Would like to see a new menu as I'm tired of the Wellington & Scallops. Someone please be these contestants a Thermapen to ensure there food is actually cooked properly.

I say every year that I am not going to watch this again and somehow I end up getting into it. I do enjoy some of the things that spew from his mouth though.

People adore bullies and they cry foul when their kids get bullied at school. These programs should be banned and people thrown in jail for such behavior on TV. Add Simon Cowell and American idol to the list.

i agree, we need more nanny states!

Then don't cry foul when you are your kids are bullied in school, let the "free market" take care of it. Please don't expect the police or school officials to do anything about it.

i don't have kids. and when i do have kids, if they are bullied in school, i'll explain to them that bullying is a part of growing up and how to deal with it.

how you are relating a reality tv show to children being bullied is amusing.

For selling his assholeness on TV. BTW, would you like to treated like that at work? how about the first orientation you had at work? its not natural, this guy is selling his profanity of TV and catering to the dark side of entertainment. And that's OK if it was shown at late night or rated "R" but the sad part is its on prime time with kids watching, just like American Idol.

That's where they learn bullying, millions of kids watched Americal Idol and enjoyed/laughed at bullying.
