I did when I lived there, and I would if I wasn't atttending college in California :|. My brother's distraught, this really pisses me off, they'd been problematic my entire stay there, etc.

It's more than that. This has been going on for as long as I've been around (I'm from Rockland County, NY btw). The school needs more money, and every time they try and raise taxes just a tad bit they vote in force (and, yes, half the students' parents are lazy enough to not vote, so it's not just the hossies) and all that ends up happening is budget cuts, as just happened. They've even got people voted onto the board with the SOLE intention of putting pressure to lower taxes (their goal is a majority or something or other). It's too bad that they're upholding this stereotype so well, but I mean hate of these people can be found everywhere (even regular ol jewish people, cause the hossies apparently hate them for not being 'completely jewish' or whatever), so don't look at this as racism :x. This thread may be pointless but there's nobody around and I had to bitch somewhere. Can't wait for summer break :evil:

FWIW, this happens everywhere. Usually it's people who have no school-aged kids. Everybody looks at the bottom line.

"Your people" are too lazy to vote, so you must. The "joos" you hate are apparently better citizens who understand how to participate in a representative democracy.

They choose to use that understanding to stop subsidizing your education with their tax dollars, good for them. If "your people" cared enough they would get organized to donate time and money to the schools if they can't find their way to the polls.
