PSA: Got rusty ugly wheels? Paint 'em!

An otherwise decent looking bus, but all the wheels were ugly and rusty. I spent a couple hours and a half can each of Rustoleum Professional (yeah, right) white primer and gloss white and it's a world of difference! (And a non-rusty hubcap helps.)

When I was screwing around, I did the same thing with no prep (because I was just screwing around) on one of my Beetle's crappy looking steel wheels that had already been painted before. Looks fine from 10 feet away :p

Yeah, these are a 10 foot paint job. Definitely.

But these are temporary. The keepers (my winter wheels with the Nokian Hakkapeliita CS tires one 'em) will get real automotive single stage paint from my HVLP. I just wanted to test my masking technique and see how they looked.

I really should find that can and do the other three wheels. Then again, it's already a multi-colored rust-heap on wheels (with miraculously solid floor pans) anyway.

except for spare, but thats so rusty now that it dosen't physiccly fit on the vehicle anymore.

does the micro bus have a Corvair engine??

When that conversion is done the microbus, turns into an Extra neat toy. :)
