PSA: Google finally enabled effective user account switching for Gmail/Youtube etc

Ever since the nightmare when Google force Youtube accounts to become Google accounts, it's been a giant PITA to use multiple services with different accounts. Now, FINALLY, it's much much easier.

Only took them 18 months or so to fix their system.

This is somewhat important to me as I have been using two different browsers to avoid the hassle of logging in and out. I haven't tried Google's user account switching for a while (the first iteration was horrible) but this seems to work much better than before.

I can confirm that GMail, Calendar, and Google+ to be working perfectly, while Drive, Play, and Youtube still won't. Drive gives you a notification that you can only access the other account's, while Play and Youtube just automatically revert to the main account.

Wait wut?

I tried account switching between gmail and my gapps hosted domain and it was painful at best. What exactly changed? How is it better?
