PSA: Give View->Details, Arrange Icons By->Type, Show in Groups a try

You may not like it, but personally I feel for anyone who works with a lot of files and a lot of different file types that this view setup is far superior to using icons, thumbnails, sort by name, or anything else.

Details offers some nice info, but sort by type and shows in groups offers the real convenience. It gives a nice level of organization for any folder and even divides hard drives from optical drives in My Computer and stuff like that.

I'm sure most of you are aware of this, but if you currently use icons and sort by name, give sort by type and show in groups a try at least.
