Taken from Here

Step One

Installing the ActiveX plugin

* Depending on which version of Firefox you use, right-click the relevant link and save it to your desktop:
o Firefox 1.0, 1.0.1, or 1.0.2: http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozactivex-ff-10.xpi
o Firefox 1.0.3: http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozactivex-ff-103-2.xpi
o Firefox 1.0.4: http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozactivex-ff-104.xpi
This is Adam Lock's ActiveX Plugin for Firefox
* Open Firefox, then drag the .xpi file you just downloaded into the Firefox window.
While installing, the plugin will appear in the Extensions window. Then it will vanish - this is because even though it installs the same way, this is not an extension.
* When the installation is complete, restart Firefox.

Step Two

Patching the Registry

* Right-click this link and save it to your desktop: http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/resources/wmp9.reg
* When it has downloaded, double-click it. A pop-up will ask if you want to add the information in it to the registry - click Yes.
This applies a registry patch that solves a problem where Firefox will try to use an older version of the WMP plugin (6.4) instead of the actual version.

This is why I use IE6. You don't need instructions and download links to get WMP to embed in the browser.

IE is total garbage.. and I was a die hard MS user for years... after having firefox and using only it for 6 months I will never use IE except at work again..
it is a holey buggy POS...

dont knock something till you try it..
remeber MS doesnt want thier proprietary things to work in anyone but thier browser do this is great that someone has figured out how to do it with FF..

FF is faster... more secure... less prone to spyware... tabbed browsing is the absolute bomb.. the plugins for it are better... way better Inet browser period..

dont get me wrong man, i love FF, but IE is faster, usable on all sites, and you can set things up to block popups and spyware if your not retared. everything is build for IE first, then if it works for the other guys, great, if not, to bad. even so, i'm pretty die hard FF fan. and give it time for FF spyware, bugs, and a anything else, you have to remember, most spyware attackes are going to be aimed at general users, not AT's cuz we know what to look for, my dad for instance, will not. those ppl who are not AT's still use IE (though i'm teachin' the rents).

Basically, IE is faster for all the wrong reasons. It is built int to the system so it has faster availibility and it loads everthing correctly due to lazy or favorist coders.

Unlike others on here, I don't hate firefox and don't think firefox is the be all....it is jsut better.
