Southern states started today. FYI.

Click me (may have to cut and paste)

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://www.annualcreditreport.com"><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://www.annualcreditreport.com">https://www.annualcreditreport.com</a></a>

Above site is set up by the 3 agencies for their use. Be careful not to click on the buy stuff (although you wouldn't be charged unless you give them a CC number anyway).

Good Luck

(Found one wrong account - A BAD ONE - on mine. Online dispute)

Yes, please fix your link.

And it's the southern states that became available on that site today. The Midwest became available on March 1st.

And WTH does Kentucky have anything specifically to do about the Midwest or Southern states? The blue area (marked Southern) on that map is what's available today. The orange area (marked Midwest) is what was available on March 1st.

ETA - Wow. You're really quick on the draw tonight mister.

I've already done this today. No problems so far. Investigated before I jumped it. Also, it was in a thread in OT somewhere around December.

I live in Kentucky and my free report started today! :D Ah, what the hell. I've worked 56 hours of Overtime since Saturday (yes, 56 hours over and above regular hours). I'm too tired to notice that it was right on the page what section started on June 1st! DOH!!!

:(

P.S. Be nice to this tired man. I've had one hell of a bad week....*sigh* :(

I just went through all 3 sites just now.
Still not 100% free as they want to to pay to see your credit score.

It says every year. Does that mean one per calandar year, or I have to wait 12 months between, or restarts every June for me, or what?

Its the gorvenment that made a law requiring all credit agencies to make your credit report available for no charge once a year. This website is a result of that law. So ya its not a scam...

I still have to wait until September

I hear you can get the credit report from all three agency's free once a year or from one only and get 4 quarter reports?

That's really a different thing IMO.

I assume that the intention of this is to allow people to be aware of what's on their credit report and check for inaccuracies, etc. Your credit score has nothing to do with that.

https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/helpfaq#oftenrequest

How often can I request a free credit file disclosure through this website?

You are entitled to receive one free credit file disclosure every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies ? Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. This free credit file can be requested through this website, by phone or by mail.

If you wanted to, you could cycle through them and get a credit report every 3 months although most people want to see them all at once.

Although the eastern states have not gone live with this, some are covered under their respective state laws.

The following states have laws that make free credit reports available to consumers: Colorado, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Vermont.
