I had been grumbling about how difficult it was to plug cables into this monitor since all the ports are recessed into the case and facing downwards. Even at maximum lift/tilt you can't really get a good look at them.

Today I rotated it to portrait mode and...yeah...piece of cake. +/- 45 egrees of rotation lets you get the monitor into a position where plugging in cables is very easy.

Oh, and portrait mode f'ing rules.

I just set some of these up at work...there's a big picture when you open the box that shows you to rotate the monitor to attach cables.

In other words...RTFM!!!!

Good advice though as it is a pain without rotating.

I would make fun of you, but it took me a few tear down/set ups to figure that out.

Exactly what I was gonna post. The picture is huge.

I set those up all the time at work. It was kinda intuitive the first time we got some in.

Now the old 1801FPs.. those weren't height adjustable, didn't rotate, didn't turn, and the panels are attached to the base. Those really SUCK for plugging in cables. You almost have to just flip the entire thing upside down or put it on it's side.

LOL...you guys are right, that's precisely what the glossy instruction sheet says to do. Who reads those anyway though? ;)

I tried it once for about a minute. I didn't find it useful at all.

It's TOTALLY worth it for programming. People will say "blah blah properly written functions shouldn't take up more than a page blah blah" but the truth is sometimes they do. Especially when you're working with bison grammars that can't be split up.

I can view 111 lines at once in vim. Especially if I'm doing a split window, that is very useful.
