PSA: For those having activiation problems on AT&T

If you just got an iPhone 4S and went through the activation process, but aren't getting your phone "turned on" all you need to do is power cycle it.

It took me three hours of waiting before thinking to try it. As soon as I power cycled it, it turned the service back on.

I assume the same could be achieved by turning the data mode off then on again.

Did you just swap the sim? I am thinking about heading out to Best Buy and seeing if I can snag one straight. I don't have access to my account info.

Nope. I used the new SIM that came with the iPhone 4S. Threw the old one out.

Yeah, I had to do that as well. I was headed toward the AT&T store to see if they could activate it for me (I figured it failed), and I just decided, "hey... let's turn it off and on again" (Thank you Roy from The IT Crowd).

Unless my timing was wrong, it doesn't work. I turned it into airplane mode and then disabled airplane mode, but it still wouldn't work.

i just hit the activation link i got when i got my order confirmation and the old iphone went to no service and the new one went online in like 30 seconds. you can even activate before you get your phone lol
