I've found this tool extremely useful:

http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=33008

It lets you customize the graphics settings in the game. In my case, with GTX 460s in SLI, I had ample graphics power, but I kept running out of memory at the highest settings. With this tool, I have everything maxed out with the textures turned down one notch, and the game stays pegged at 60fps.

Basically for many of you, this tool will allow you to run at "extreme" settings with the textures turned down a bit.

Huh, I run the game at 1080p extreme and have never seen my VRAM usage go much over 600MB, running GPU Observer on my second monitor.

Perhaps you're not far enough into the game.

I found that after you "interface the suit" and the aliens break loose, the game got much more intense with way better graphics.

I'm gaming at 1920x1200, so perhaps that's why as well.

Nah, I beat the game a few days after it came out, so that isn't the issue. Your slightly higher resolution will add some VRAM usage though, and I suspect SLI might take some extra as well.

I agree 100%, I was running Crysis 2 at 1280x1024 with a 4770 and when the aliens started appearing the 4770 would struggle so went down to high quality.

mah.... disable vsync if you have a good cooler on the video card.

Id think you'd get higher fps with vsync off, and gaming LCD's dont really require vsync.

The thing is crysis2 is not a gpu intensive game at all.
Lost Planet 2 with DX11, and dragons age 2 with DX11 will slaughter the game requirements, because crysis 2 has no DX10, nor DX11.

Unless they finally patched that.

You being peg'd at 60fps, im thinking is Vsync on, which is usless, unless ur on a CRT or a very slow LCD.

However disabling vsync will work your videocard...
so this is why u should have good air flow, or a good cooler on it.
