The problem was a corrupted database on the upgrade, so, you must delete the database folder in the directory it was installed in, and then import everything.
For those of you that have used Acronis before, it was simple to restore images you have made.
Now, with the new version, it still allows you to make backups, BUT, you can't restore without using the 'rescue media builder'.
Yeah, they expect you to reboot your machine with the rescue media, and then restore.
It doesn't matter that you may want to restore to a non-boot drive.
So, those of you that have the older version of Acronis WD edition (or any version of Acronis pre 2015/16?) installed, do NOT update to the new one!
Talk about going downhill fast.
Macrium Reflect , Paragon Backup & Recovery, EaseUS Todo Backup (free versions) all allow you to restore within their program (assuming you don't restore to a boot drive).
*edit, seems it is only gimped in the WD/Seagate versions, still trying to verify with some other people.
*edit 2, it seems that the upgrade corrupts Acronis's database, so you have to re-import all your backups.
Looks like lots of people don't like the 2016 update, and I can't blame them. The other backup software listed above is better IMO.
