My Apex dvd player died after 4 months :(

ESC's are a rip-off. Why do you think stores like BB are so eager to push them on you? That's where their profit comes from. Last I checked, the payoff rate on ESC's is similiar to that of mail-in rebates. I have never bought one, and what's more, I've never needed one.

Mine did too. Worst part is that it was a Christmas present; I don't even have a receipt or anything. :/

you know, laptops these days.... I have two friends who have had to call on the warranty after 1yr... good thing they got it. One was a motherboard frying the other was a HD dying. Well worth it they said, as it was serviced rather quickly (both dells coincedently...).

i still say it's useful for some things.
