I think the bigger is the folks that still don't know the proper usage of There, Their, They're and the people that still spell lose with two "o"s.

That's all 4th & 5th grade stuff (well, probably college level by now), get them fixed first and I'll give up my ellipses ...

Happy Easte!

Why does anyone care? Its a forum, expect lazy typing. Thing of poor grammar on the net like a spoken accent. You may like the way some people do it, while hating the way others do it. If you can understand them, stfu b/c whining about it isn't going to change the way they type. If you can't understand them, was what they were saying worth getting upset about anyway?

People... its the internet. Chill.

When somebody uses it repeatedly, it loses its meaning. If there are so many that I start noticing ellipses all over somebody's post, I get annoyed.

I don't mind the occasional ellipsis, but it should be something you save for dramatic effect. Kind of like dropping F-bombs.

more accurately express my thoughts

if these same topics of discussion transpired in real life, i wouldnt snap off paragraph-long answers as if i had them prepared and written in a book

how is that so difficult to understand?

EDIT: There are legitimate uses of them, of course, but ending all sentences isn't one of them.

I don't end all of my sentences in them, but I do use them all the time. My co-workers also make fun me all the time for not completing my sentences properly, so I apparently speak like I write. I do however believe I use them correctly, feel free to go through my post history and evaluate. I generaly use them as a trailing thought in my post, leaving the reader ponder the conclusion of my thought. I think of it as a distinctive style that mirrors my line of thought, but it could just be that I'm an idiot that can't complete my own thoughts. Who knows...
