I can't find a link that talks about them being safe. NBC News said they are safe...but still, DON'T SHOVE THEM UP YOUR ASS.

WASHINGTON -- Federal regulators say they are looking into the safety of the popular toy Zhu Zhu Pets after a consumer group raised concerns over the presence of a heavy metal on one model.

But the consumer group backtracked Monday, saying its testing method doesn't match federal standards.

The consumer review group GoodGuide said over the weekend that it found that one of the robotic hamsters, Mr. Squiggles, had the heavy metal antimony in its hair and nose. The toy's maker defended the product and released results from an independent lab.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Monday that it hopes to complete their review swiftly to determine if the toy exceeds the metals limit put in place under a new child safety law this year.

Senseless fearmongering. Zhu Zhu hamsters are totally safe for anal insertion. Everyone knows this.

"The California-based consumer group GoodGuide raised concerns this weekend over the presence of a potentially harmful heavy metal in a Mr. Squiggles model of the robotic hamsters that it tested."

LOL, Mr. Squiggles.

Oh damn. I thought there was a formal news report out that specifically said not to put Zhu Zhu pets up your butt. (Maybe the Zhu Zhu pet makers could make some smaller ones properly shaped and then market them creatively...)

Shoving them up your ass can probably increase the Amazon price by $20.

Sure, but you'd have to wait in a mob of people before Wal-Mart opens to get one.
