for the last year i've been having sleeping problems
for example, lying in bed for hours without being able to fall asleep. so i got a new bed yesterday, it's the plush top that they sell at whotelsstore.com it's a rebranded simmons beautyrest for W hotels for $600+ $100 for sheets and stuff, and i haven't slept this good at my house for a long time. i feel so well rested today and in general just in a much better mood. i used to never appreciate sleep as much till i started working. i could used to sleep on couches and futons in college and hs all the time but i dont think i can do that anymore!

if you guys are feeling tired or restless or just shitty in general, hold off on buying that new TV or video card or hot rims for your car and invest in a new bed!!

And if you want one better, skip the "beautyrest" and get the backcare line.

That's what I have. That thing is a dream.

wrong. most people bitch about spending $$$ on beds and end up sleeping in a crap bed or poor sleeping environment and develop back problems in the future

Not everyone takes this long to figure it out.

i agree. only issue i have is a lot of the beds are rebranded and cheaper. don't purchase the $3k bed just because you think more expensive=better.

yup, if you go to sleepys and just show them proof of a rebranded bed (they will verify if it is true, so do not go making your own charts), they will beat the price by 10%. I bought a $2000 bed for $800.

I'm still missing my coffee so my brain isn't functioning right now but how do you show them proof of a rebranded bed?

We bought a $1k bed not too long ago ... maybe 4yrs ago (plush pillowtop and everything) and it's starting to have an indentation on the pillowtop and I'm not even that heavy!

I can sleep comfortably on a rock. My favorite bed to this day is my old futon mat directly on the floor. It was one of the fiber stuffed type, not foam, so it was quite firm.

The sad thing is that you could've gotten them down to $800 without the pricematch at all. Mattresses are so grossly overpriced it's not even funny.

I bought a Sealy last year that was stickered for around $1400. Didn't take much to get them down to $600. The funny thing is that as we were about to leave the store, another couple we know came into the store. I pointed at the mattress we just bought and simply said, "$600." They ended up getting the same one. :) I don't think the salesman liked me much after that.

you spend more time in bed than almost anywhere else, like your car, or computer chair or couch, it is worth spending big bucks on

You seem to forget where you're posting.

Something that most people never figure out...
There are two things you should never scrimp on...your bed and your workshoes/boots.
You spend far too much time in one...and not enough time in the other.

there are some sites out there that have lists that point out who makes what mattresses for what comapny and what some are rebranded as. Some also point out which bed lines are cross referenced with others (they do this so it gives the illusion that each retailer has a different line of beds, when in reality, Sealy B is just Sealy A with a different line name). If I remember the site, i will post it again, but i think the one that shows rebranded ones was taken down (for obvious reasons), so all I think isleft is the line bed line cross reference sheet.

Yup, what people do not realize is that large furniture retailers have a "fixed price" policy. This means that the retailer can't be undercut by anyone. If anyone finds the same product for a cheaper price, the retailer is supposed to get the difference from the manufacture back because they now owe the customer the difference back. This is why Sealy is not sold at Jordan's anymore...Jordan's kept undercutting the prices b/c they bought in such big amounts. It's also the reason why you cannot find the same sealy mattress at different retailers....it's the same, it kust has a different line name.

I bought a whole set <frame, bottom, top, ect.> of Seally from Sams Club for around $400 a couple years ago. No problem so far.

BTW, beside a good bed, you also need some good pillows for a good night sleep.
