PSA: Don't see The Wicker Man

Has to be the worst movie I've seen in a long time.

Horrible plot, acting, music, etc...

Save your time and money and don't see it ever.

lol 15%

don't think I'll be seeing it

Yeah, well for one the fiancee and I decided on the spur of the moment to go see it 10 mins before it started, so we didn't spend anytime checking the reviews and secondly Rotten Tomatoes is pretty hit or miss IMO on a lot of movie reviews considering some of my favorite movies are rated poorly on there while other movies on there are reviewed to be the best ever and IMO just suck.

Million Dollar Baby comes to mind for a highly rated movie that I thought was just meh.

Do see the original 1973 version though, it is quite good.

Yeah, the original is a pretty good film. I didn't have much hope for the remake though.

Damn, I really like Cage too.

Yeah me too, must be because of his role in The Rock, although Matchstick man was pretty good also (if that's the one where he is a scammer, I think).

Rotten Tomatoe's is for the most part accurate, but it depends on the time and what other movies are out there to compare it to, also how much it was hyped up.

The Rock and Face/Off are probably my favorite two of his movies. Con Air was pretty good too. As far as more recent work... I really liked Lord of War. Weather Man was... odd, but I kind of enjoyed it. National Treasure was decent. Didn't see Matchstick men.

I'm stoked for Ghost Rider though. 😀

I suppose the older an actor gets, the less you can expect them to fall into rolls they were famous for in their younger days.

Ahh yes Con Air was awesome!!

Never saw Face Off, guess I'll have to see it.

A young Cage in Moonstruck with guns like Red Dawn, and Cher . . . yes, Cher . . . giving one hell of a performance: a warm, sweet movie but one that didn't give you sucrose poisoning.

Then, if you can stomach the brutal, too real downer, Cage in Leaving Las Vegas. Awesomely bleak. Elizabeth Shue getting worked over by those druken, frat boys in the hotel room. Shudder.

I can't believe they effed up the high dollar remake of The Wicker Man. The one TV trailer I saw for it is riveting.

I don't see films in the theater very much, but I buy 1-2 DVDs (or more) each week when they are released. I'll have to remember to skip this one.

Too bad I didn't see this thread before I went and saw it today. One of the most boring movies evar. I rarely fall asleep in movies, no matter how bad, but this one is really pushing the limit.

Thanks for the PSA though... hope others can benefit.

Unfortunately I saw the movie on Friday. I thought the movie was horrible as well, but for some reason it doesn't make sense. Maybe it's not supposed to make sense.

But in the beginning when he pulled over the station wagon and it got hit/blew up, they said they never found bodies. So what actually happened with that? My wife and friend say that he hallucinated it, which is BS because he was hurt and off work.

So was that car actually hit or not?

But I agree no one go see it it's really boring.

Huge Cage fan so I'll probably skip this one so he's not tarnished for me. A shame because the previews look good. But if I had a dime for every movie that didn't live up to the expectations based on the trailer, I'd be a rich man.

Just because everyone here is saying its bad, im gonna see it just cause i ususally disagree with Anandtech on movies.
