I expect someone bought my unopened Yamaha YSP-4100 sound bar that was burglarized out of a van of some color. (Don't laugh at sound bar, it had like 46 speakers and retailed for $1800).

Many years ago (45?) I responded to an ad to buy a pair of legendary speakers, used. The seller looked hip and groovy enough but when I got them home and inspected them I discovered that the woofers had been swapped out for others... they weren't the genuine article. I was super pissed off and confronted the seller but he deflected me, wouldn't refund my purchase, the bastard (yea, he came off as a real bastard). I still have them in a spare room, rarely used.

I keep seeing the obvious white van special speakers showing up at thrift stores.

Even saw one at a pawn shop recently. Based on the asking price, the pawn shop definitely got fooled / ripped-off.
