Well, my shredder was slowing down and starting to jam - and even a good clean didn't seem to do much.

Well, the manual says to lubricate occasionally (albeit in rather broken English).

So, I get my trusty can of spray grease, ready to probe the opening. I'm generous. But then, the straw crosses the sensor beam, and the shredder motor starts.

My ears are still ringing. My fringe is rather shorter than it was, and my eyebrows/eyelashes are mere shadows of their former selves.

The shredder, however, has received a new lease of life - and is better than new.

The Shredder

Bad do, innit!

That's NOT how you lube a paper shredder. We just had a thread on that yesterday, in fact.

UUMMMM you're supposed to cover a sheet of paper with lube a feed it through, so technically you're lubing it while you shred.

Use a dry lubricant like graphite or some other kind (canot think of the name at the moment)
