So I was doing a mini App-o-rama.
I got a RBS CC with a $4K limit(blah)
There is an option online to "pay yourself".
The max was for $3700. The FEE for a transfer is $60 max.
I tried to do it online but I get an ERROR so I figured it didn't go through cause they alert you on all transaction through email and I didn't get one.
Few days later I get some blank checks from them and I figured I write to myself for $3900.
When I got home later that day, I checked online and to my surprise, I see a charge of $3760.
I'm like sh*! !!!
(Just another example, Citibank let you pick that option too but they don't actually charge you until you get that check and deposited it)
So I called them up and asked them what I can do:
1) let the check go through and they will charge me $29 from RBS and what ever my bank charges me.
2) pay the $3760 electronically before the check I wrote for $3900 gets there.(which means it might cost me $120 total in transfer fee)
I decided to do #2 cause I don't like the sound of bouncing check.
A week later, to my surprise again, I get a "returned check" for $3900......WTF.
According to records, RBS cleared my $3760 on the 20th and my bank cleared it on the 21st.
The check for $3900 came back saying "uncollected" on the 24th.
WTF man....at worst by the 21st, my balance should be at $0 which then the $3900 should have went through.
Don't even get me started how I argued with the CR and the supervisor(2 times)
The CR I talked to the second time around was as stupid as a fvck1ng rock.
I keep telling her if I do a transfer balance again, it would cost me a total of $120 and she was clueless on why its $120
I was so frustrated talking to these people, I decided to closed the account.
So lets see here:
1) I go ahead and get a transfer again and it would cost me:
- $60 the first time(I paid that off)
- $29 for the check didn't clear
- $7 from my bank(luckily they charge so little, I tought it would be $29)
- $60 to get another transfer.
2) Don't do another transfer
- $60 the first time(I paid that off)
- $29 for the check didn't clear
- $7 from my bank(luckily they charge so little, I tought it would be $29)
I tell them to screw off and tell everyone about it
I feel like they screw up the first time(when the $3760 went through without an email alert)
and the second time when they didn't clear the $3900(although my balance shows $0)
And trying to reason with 2 freakin rocks just got me more frustrated.
