I worked at an eckard photo lab, and a CVS one. Eckard has 10x better machines, they can expect each picture and adjust it. I liked working in the Eckard photo lab alot better too, the CVS machine pretty much autos them out no checking them for balance of color or brightness.

Been there, done that. I worked in a 1 hour photo for about 2 years. It was a good job most of the time. There were plenty of times when people would fill out the envelope and leave it on the counter when we weren't looking. If they neglected to put a time on it, we just marked one hour from the time we noticed it sitting there and gave it the normal place in line.
