PSA: Do not buy Mr Clean Auto dry car wash

The sponge thats included sucks. You should use a cotton chenile mitt or a quality sheepskin's mitt along with quality soap. The auto dry filter thingy is really just good for rinsing.

What's what I was thinking. I remember maybe 3-4 years ago some infomercial was selling basically the same thing, a filter to eliminate the need for rinsing. So really, use your own soap and it should be fine?

Wait, scratches because of this? Is there a warning anywhere? Read the instructions, packaging, as much as you can. If you don't see anything about scratches you may have just won yourself a lawsuit! 😉 😛 😀

Maybe not a lawsuit but you certainly might be able to get some sort of compensation. Have you got any "before" shots? Hmmm, I'm planning on painting my car this year; maybe I should try this afterall😉

Huh. I was about to try this out too😕

same here. i really hate drying my car and seeing all those spots. I thought this product would be great. I'll stick to using the absorber and finishing off with a MF towel.

Thanks Captain Obvious

I tried it on my Passat today (2000 Black Magic Pearl) and it's horrible. I get a LOT of water marks and added a bunch of scratches on my car because the soap has absolutely no lather. AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Mr Clean's POS
Lather has ZERO effect on a soap's cleaning ability or on whether or not scratches are left. Scratches are purely the result of a cheap sponge.

A good car wash shampoo provides lubrication to prevent scratching and conditioners to maintain the shine.

Damn those lying ba$tards on Autopia.org
The SOAP does that, NOT THE LATHER! And a good sponge will not scratch even without soap.

Soap is supposed to clean. Conditioners are best applied separately, like waxes.
