You're simply blind to the human condition. As long as you want what makes you feel good to happen to prisoners you're never going to come up with something that works in this country. If you actually read how detterents affects crime in different populations you'd realize how foolish you are.

You could start here: https://www.ncjrs.gov/App/publications/Abstract.aspx?id=93013

I'm not going to generalize and make a blanket statement for every inmate in our prison system, but it still stands that that some people are only changed and will learn the hard way and a painful reminder of their inmate days is sometimes the best deterrent. You can quote all the books you want, but having been to some of the countries I referred to, I also know first hand that harsh prison treatments work.

Correlation does not equal caustion. That there are many countries with cushier prisons than the US with much lower crime rates pretty much disproves your idea. Visiting a country doesn't equal experiencing their legal system (unless you were arrested?). Most people who visit the US don't see any crime happening either.

Obviously our prison system is just fantastic.

Keep wasting my money, assholes. Consider it my rent for living in this shithole country.

Edit: lol at the pathetic, overly patriotic people.

What the hell does patriotism have to do with this ass hole who tries to mug people?

Isn't there a protest or something you should be at? Everyone can point out problems but few actually have solutions.

Feel free to experience any other country than this one (long term) although I'm sure you're enjoying the freedoms you have living in the US. You are indeed free to move where ever you'd like...exercise that freedom...please. Start with Liberia or Somalia and after that hit up Syria. Please move to your fictional Utopia...ASAP.

LOL at the ignorant who make statements such as yours.

BTW our prison system does suck and I'm glad this guy got the shit beat out of him....should happen more often or in parallel with being put in jail.

Talk about shitty luck. He picked the one guy that is more than likely going to kick his ass no matter what. Wonder what fighter it was.

Miranda approached his car on near Kenneth Ave. and 55th St. and asked for a light.

see, smoking is bad for you.

oh and if you're going to rob someone with a gun, try keeping your distance since... you know... you have a gun anyway.

I don't know Brock is pretty good at laying on people too. But nobody is stupid enough to try and rob him.

I doubt this story is real. First of all, guns in chicago are illegal, so how could that mugger even be carrying a gun?

Well, I was just being a dick about gun laws. And while you can buy a gun in chicago, you still can't legally carry it.

Mainly, I was just pointing out that gun laws do nothing to stop gun crimes.

I agree with you. The US prison systems just seems to breed more criminal activity. Then when the person gets out we hang a big scarlet letter on them that says Ex-Con so when they try to get a legal job they get turned down. There needs to be more a emphasis on rehabilitation not just warehousing and punishment.

Hey, I know, I will commit a crime so I can get free education, free job-skills training, free access to computers and to a full-size law library. Wow, who knew crime could pay so well.

We need to have guillotines in public square. One thing for sure recidivism is zero if you kill them. Say after 3 felonies. Three strikes and you're truly out out.

Don't forget free medical care like free heart transplants, free cancer treatments etc even working class people don't get.

Hmm, that is near Midway. A very polish/hispanic area. I have been hearing Mark Miller, but also could be Mark Munoz, who is not from Chicago, but is there for a fight. That would be logical, cause he could have been leaving Midway.

I'm going with Mark Munoz/Mark Miller too. No way that was a HW's damage.

The corrections system in the US just breeds more crime. If we expect somebody to be rehabilitated we need to provide assistance to help them.

And you think that helps them?

We didn't have a high prison population when it was hard labor/miserable/chain gangs. That helped them never to want to go back.
