One guy on another forum had a Dish tech guy at his house doing a follow up visit when it went down.

I wondered what happened. I lost signal about that time. Came back up a little while later.

solar flares or a dead transponder. Don't worry most sats have a few spare transponders . If not they can move it out of its slot and move in the backup sat, sometimes within 48 hours.

Yeah, some are randomly going in and out. Especially local channels.
