The third series in the saga, Deep Space Nine explores new worlds, new concepts, and new civilizations which takes a candid look at the often tragic conflicts between differing civilizations and how they are experienced by their participants. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine features a whole new cast of alien characters and nail biting situations.

As much of a freaked out Trekkie as I may be, I don't believe my employer would grant me a day off to watch DS9. :(

I hope on April 12 they start from the beginning and show the episodes in the correct order.

I don't really want to watch 9 hours a day for a week to catch the first season(s). ;)

Bingo. Which is why I'm glad they're getting through the first 2-plus-a-little seasons in the 9 hr/day week long thing. The first 3 seasons just plain blew ass, and the last few were entertaining but only in a purely special effects type of way.

anybody know what the schedule is? With the marathons... I know theyre showing a ton of eps each day but after this (when they go to the 1 a night) are they going to just pickup where they left off with the marathon? Id really like to see them all but I dont have the time to watch them all back to back and replay is already getting overloaded with recorded eps (got the first 9 and watched 2 of them). I was hoping they would show one a night and start from the beginning so I could ease into watching them vs marathons.

It's easily the worst. Try sitting through a few eps of the marathon this week and tell me that the first 3 seasons were any good at all.

You could say the same for TNG.

TNG's first few seasons were corny due to special effects by today's standards, but they had some interesting stories. The reason why people like DS9 is because of the mindless special effects laden war in the 2nd half.

Special effects of TNG hardly changed throughout its term but is of no consequence really. The early episodes sucked because of Roddenberry's vision. BS storylines and too much Wesley Crusher.

If they do it the same way they did TNG, I think they will start the episodes from the beginning after the marathon week is over. I can't say for sure, though.

I watched part of it today. I had never seen the show before.

I give it a "meh+"

Though, now I do understand what a Grand Nagus is.

It means you're Wallace Shawn.

I hope they do because my replay is overloaded already.... Im thinking I should just delete the record all ds9 eps and wait till they run once a night (be much easier for me to keep up). I honestly dont remember the beginning of the series at all so I would love to start from the beginning. Its kinda funny to watch the few eps at the beginning, it makes the later stuff flow. For example jake and nog getting into trouble together and forming their frendship....

AFAIK they are playing them in order from the beginning of the marathon. So when they start regular programming it starts in the 3rd season.
