C-SPAN is above the partisan fray... It serves to allow its viewers access to the operation of our government.
C-SPAN isn't that shit that Fox "News" is...
C-SPAN is irrelevant in this failure of politics.

I feel the need to explain
what happened for those that don't quite understand it. A pro forma
session which that was is for procedural stuff
only. It is not for legislative business. That means no votes and no
debates. It is only to close out business, state when things are going
to happen and give out information. Kind of like morning announcements
in school. Now while I don't believe they should be taking time off
until they get their work done it is what it is. The minority whip was
posturing for the public. He knew there would be no vote. He knew that
most of the members were not even present. Before he spoke he knew house
rules would prevent a vote. How are you going to call for a vote when
people aren't even present to vote? That is the problem with the elected
officials. They don't care and they think we are too stupid to
understand. They all, democrats and republicans, agreed to end the
legislative session. So don't act like you are willing to stay and work
now when you agreed the the session was over. Not one member of the
house entered a motion to extend the session. Not one. So why is he
coming at the end and acting like he gives a Damn now? They all should
be impeached. Democrats nor Republicans care about you or I.
Play chicken with what?
The Democrats want a small extension which is logistically impossible.
The Republicans have passed a full year extension.
Since Braveheart, Mel Gibson's epic Oscar-winning 1995 reconstruction of the story of Sir William Wallace, is a monument to self-serving martyrdom laced with a pornographic enthusiasm for torture, you may appreciate why it appears to be the Republican Party's favorite movie.
According to the The Washington Post, House Republicans have taken Braveheart as their inspiration for their opposition to any deal with either their opponents (Democrats) or their enemies (the Senate) on proposals to extend the payroll-tax holiday and unemployment benefits next year. At a two-hour caucus meeting, as many as 10 GOP members stood before their peers and talked about their favorite moments from Gibson's bloated, brazenly ahistorical epic. I know, go figure. Such are the wages of democracy.
So most everyone wasn't even there and no votes are allowed but they decide to try and bring up a vote anyways. Nice work.
Is this like when Obama refused to allow the healthcare discussions on CSPAN? Or is that different because he's a Democrat?

Or does that still not count since Nancy is a Democrat?
But mom.... he started it! lol classic
 yet again?
\keep swingin' champ, keep swingin'...
Wow...
This thread: "It's Okay! Democrats did it too!" or "It's Okay! Politicians do it all the time!" God you people are a bunch of... cynics, partisans, and a bunch of other negative things.
What matters is Boehner blatantly censored something just because he didn't like it. Regardless of the actions of other entities, or how often stuff like this happens, that is blatantly wrong and he should catch serious flack for it. I actually watched the C-SPAN broadcasts during the height of the healthcare debate, and they never went out. Boehner shuts it down over 2 month payroll tax break extensions? Give me a fucking break.
Pardon me for holding my government to a more ideal, if perhaps somewhat unrealistic standard. If that means almost everything's always wrong then so be it. At least I'm not letting a corrupt political system drag my morality down with it.
DO you hold your government to a higher standard? DID you complain when the previous people did it? If not.. its certainly valid to suggest your opposition to it now is purely political. Perhaps it isn't, but for a lot of people here it is.
That's one man, with Executive Power.
This is the Congress of the United States. Theoretically, they represent us.
