Wait. So the 2 series is the new 1 series? Do they plan to have a 1 hatch/sedan? :hmm:

Also, the options add 12k (>30%) to the price of the base car? WTF?

And the 3 series sedan base price is about the same as the 2 series coupe? :\

I configured up a M235i a few hours ago not realizing the configurator was brand new. Ended up being ~$47k which I believe is what the sticker was on my 09 135i.

Too bad I was actually on the site looking for a M3/M4 configurator, not gonna buy the same car twice. ;)

And satyajitmenon basically odd #s = 4 door, even #s = 2 door - that's their new numbering scheme for the most part. And yes I noticed the 3 starting that low too, but who's going to buy or lease a base model BMW? Gotta at least have sport seats. :p

My config:
- M235i
- Estoril Blue
- Black Dakota Leather
- Brushed Aluminum Trim
- Cold Weather Package
- Driver Assistance Package
- Technology Package
- Harmon/Kardon Premium Sound
- $50,550

My 228i config is nearly identical to the OP, except I add the tech package. I'd almost rather go for a 328i/428i with the M Sport line.

Going to be looking hard this summer for a new car. 228i, M235i, 328i, 428i, IS350, A5, A4 and S4 are all going to be test driven. Not sure I can hold out for the S3.. but I really would like to.

Audi doesn't even know when they're going to release the S3. Guy over on Fourtitude keeps getting told simultaneous release with the A3 but we all have our doubts.

I heard BMW is actually adding some new single-digit numerals to accommodate their confusing model line.

Can't wait for the new threeve series.

I think I've read August or October, but who knows at this point. I'm looking at buying in July-Sept so hopefully it's within the window..

I noticed the CLA45 AMG config is up (haven't checked in a while). Options put it over 55k for me. Trying to stick to 45k, maybe 50k max.

I actually like new naming term that odd number represents 3+ door (I believe 1 will become hatchback, so it will be 3 door eventually) and even number represents 2 door.

Welcome to the world of German pricing. Try to configure Porsche, and you will learn why local Porsche dealer mostly has $ 70k+ Cayman in stock even though its base price is supposed to be $ 51k.

Because of 320i... which is considered a very low-end. 328i starts at $ 37k.

I'd really have to think hard about a fully loaded 228i or the 235, the difference in price is there but its not huge. and the 235 will have or has the limited slip rear diff

6 series sedan laughs at BMW's numbering scheme.

240HP 4cyl turbo and $44K - That seems a bit much!

when will the 2015 Mustang configurator go live?

Hmmm. LSD is tempting.

And they're both going to be FI engines that go kaput after warranty expiration, so why not just go for the I6 on second thought?

If I didn't already have a f30 328 I'd get the 228. Probably would prefer it though it's barely cheaper. I think its a couple hundred pounds lighter

I believe it's a dealer option and not a manufacturer one. No idea on pricing though.

cool. I'm not in the market this year. my car lease is up next oct. if the year goes well. I'll probably do an ED in summer. so order will go in next march.

hopefully all is clear by then.

Lol. Ultimate driving machine, yet requires a $4k premium package upgrade to get keyless entry... Oh BMW, you so crazy!

Just give me the smart remote + auto-dimming mirrors. Don't need that other crap.. one of the reasons I'm not looking at the premium package.

Keyless as in just putting your hand to the door handle and it opening or just a remote that'll unlock? I'm pretty sure the standard is the remote.

Keyless as in never having to remove the key from my pocket. It had better come with the remote! >_>
