PSA: Bidding while playing The Price Is Right

Jzero

Lifer
If player 1 bids $1000, DO NOT BID $998. Never undercut another player by anything less than the LARGEST amount possible. If player 1 bids $250 and player 2 bids $1000 and player 3 bids $1001 and you think the price is $800, YOU BID $251!

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

That is all.

also, if some dumb schlep bids $1 before you, just bid $2

that's hilarious when it happens 🙂

I saw the first person bid $1 once. And it just kept going up down the entire row. I'm like "BAHAHHAHA OWNED"

Hahaha... $1 is very smart, but not as a FIRST move. Oh well... live and learn (or die).

On a side-note, don't some of the items they bid on seem ridiculously over-priced? ....they should rename the show to The Price is Wrong.

That'd be an awesome Owned pic. The view of all the players bids 1-2-3-4. HAHAHA!

The last spot is best off by bidding $1 higher than one of the other bids. Its sad that people don't realize this. Its even sadder than someone other than the last person bids $1.

Depends on the timing. There are 3 bids in each of two halves. There is a car in each half. If the car was given away on the 1st bid of the first half, then you know there will be junk on the next two prices. Then when the next round comes around, you still have 3 more chances, one of which may be a car.

So it may be in your best interest early on to NOT attempt to win the crappy prizes and to hold out. Also that way, you become the last bidder.

They're Southern California prices.

Yeah, its written too complex. I should edit it. But I'm lazy today.

If you are ever in the L.A. area, i recommend going to see a taping of the show at least once, its fun. Problem is you need to be in like by like 5AM in the morning to wait for numbers, due to popularity. There is only 325 seats available. Mondays are best day to go, because they have 2 tapings. Also i recommend the chickies wear something hot looking, increases your chances of being picked. They interview pretty much everyone, to choose who will be contestant. It is not random pick. You will also notice blondes usually make it on to contestants row more often. Think BOB likes it that way.
