It was reported that the link in there caused a virus.

First of all links do not cause viruses.......

Second of all if that many people accessed the link with no problems then the person reporting the virus needs to get a new virus scanner....it`s called a false positive...which does happen.

Third my virus scanner scans links before I access them.....

But I commend the Mods for being proactive against this sort of stuff.
All to often on other sites nothing is ever done even when a link has been reported!@!

I thought I had got rid of the stupid malware but now my computer won't hibernate. It pops up the 'preparing to hibernate' screen and then just dumps me back to my desktop. It hosed something up. There is a special place in hell for people that write viruses and malware.

Yikes, this is a new virus floating around. It happened to me last week.

I ended up getting rid of XP all together and moving to windows 7 on all my PCs.

Malwarebytes was able to clean up my system of this scourge. Make sure you download it and then run the updates before doing the system scan. I did not have to format and re-install Windows on my PC.

Yeah, I guess I was a lucky one too. Ran combo Malwarebytes & Spybot. Here was my scenerio.

Adblock Plus
eTrust Antivirus

Had No Script, but not enabled (doh!). Pop-up from MU, but nothing loaded inside the page. Computer grinded to a hault, greyed out option for Task Manager, and Security Essentials 2010 pop'd up on my screen w/ shortcut on desktop. I never clicked any ads, much less saw any.

wth? lol I downloaded the megaupload and got nothing, FF 3.6 and I use Anti Vir... I scanned with malwarebytes, nada.
